Club President Terri Rickel rang the bell calling to order the October 5th  meeting of the Elkhart Rotary Club. Dave Dygert led in the pledge.
 
Maria Slager announced visiting rotarians and guests.  Honorary guests in attendance were Art Decio and Curtis Hill.

Matt Lentsch talked about the new invocation committee that he and Susan Ginther comprise.  He talked about the origination of the four way test and the people who authored it, saying that they were a diverse mix of faiths.   He asked that if anyone has prayers or suggestions they would like to submit, they can get them to him or Susan. 
 
Terri reminded everyone the club is focusing on giving to the foundation for the month of October.  She would like for every member to give something. 
 
The sergeant for the day was Clarence Thomas.  He extracted fines while asking trivia questions about NASA in honor of space week.
 
The speaker for the day was Dr. Mark King, CEO and President of Greencroft Communities. He spoke about the retirement services organization and their 8 communities in Indiana, Ohio and Illinois.  The are a 501(c)3 faith based organization and provide services to people over 55 in their CCLC (continued care living facilities).
