As part of its mission to serve the Elkhart community, The Elkhart Rotary Club provides financial support for worthy programs benefitting the Elkhart community.  Requests for donations will be accepted until December 17, 2012, with the awards and grants/checks distributed January 28, 2013.  Grants normally range from $500 to $1000.  However the Committee will consider applications of exceptional merit requesting larger grants.

The CRITERIA for measuring all requests are as follows:

1.  Grant proposals are not limited to specific orientation toward the youth in our community, but priority will be given to youth oriented proposals.

2.   Proposed projects and the organizations proposing them should have broad community impact.

3.   Capital Expenditure "Seed" money will be given priority over general operating expenses.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

1. Prepare a written description of the project, describing its scope, its cost, other funding sources and commitments, and a narrative describing its impact especially as it relates to the youth of our community.  

2. Complete and attach the Donations Request summary.  You may supplement this with additional explanations but the summary must accompany the request.  Electronic copies of the Donations Request Summary may be obtained by contacting Brad Miller at BMiller@ElkhartSteel.com or you may click on the following link.

3.  Please submit only one application per organization.

4.  Mail the completed application to  Attn: Brad Miller

5.  If your organization is given an award expect to give a 3 to 4 minute presentation on January 28, 2013 on how you plan to use the funds.
