Rotary International President Ray Klinginsmith, presented the Service Above Self award to Elkhart Rotarian Myrl Nofziger.

Rotary International President Ray Klinginsmith, presented the Service Above Self award to Myrl Nofziger of the Elkhart Rotary Club at the Foundation dinner held in South Bend on April 27th.

Nofziger has been a member of Elkhart Rotary since October 1984, and is a past President of the club.

"Service above Self" is the highest Award Rotary gives out to a local member.

Myrl recieved the award as result of all of his worldwide humanitarian work.   Korea, Nigeria, India, Zimbabwe are a few of the places were Myrl participated in Rotary projects.  
 
Myrl worked very hard along with The Elkhart Rotary Club to get the $50,000 International Rotary grant for Eden Children's Village, a mission of Goshen Christian Church in Zimbabwe.
 

Myrl's brother Roger worked with him in Mexico and his brother in laws Allen and Kurt joined him in Haiti. 

 
" We were VERY pleased that Roger and Earlene (brother and sister in law) were able to come and appreciate the event with us" commented Myrl's wife Phyllis.    
" Only a small number of Rotarians receive this award each year and I'm glad Myrl was recognized for all the errort he has put in."
